Old Capital Mall

I and my group members, Aya and Zoe went to the Old Capital Mall. We went to the second floor. I have to say that it's not a good place to study because I observed so many interesting things which were distracting me a lot. Two boys were talking about video games. One of them was pretending to be good at it, but actually he know nothing about video games because he couldn't tell the differences between PSP and NDS. The girl who sat beside our table have many lovers because I have seen her dating with different boys many times in UCC. Oh! she kisses everyone. On the other side of the longue there was a boy who was thinking about his boyfriend. Yes, boyfriend! He drew eyes line and he wear pants lower than his underwear. That he was playing with his ring showed that there were some problems with his relationship. I stayed there for about ten minutes, but I didn't write anything on my notebook. I decided to leave that place and said goodbye with Aya and Zoe.

This Monday, I, Aya and Chang went to the Old Capital Mall to study. The Old Capital Mall is very close to our teaching building, so I can go there after class every day. We were in the second floor which is quieter than the first floor. It was a good place to study because there was an atmosphere of study. The second floor had a study room, but there was a little noise because the road outside was under construction. I wish this situation will be improved in the near future. There is a CVS in the first floor. It is very convenient to buy something I need. In addition, there are also some restaurants, I might have a dinner after I finish my homework someday. If I do not want to go back dorm, the Old Capital Mall is a good place to stay and study.

             We went to UCC to study on Monday, March 28, 2016. We studied at place called center for diversity and enrichment multipurpose room. It has a lot of things like microwave, comfy sofas and desks, so that it good place to study! If you want to study for a long time, you can bring something to eat. You can sit on comfy chair if you have to study for a long time. Also, it seems quiet most of the time, so I think it is good place to study. Also, if you go there in the evening, you will get to see good sunset from the big window. This is a lot better space to study than one in my university. We have space to study, but if it has comfy chair, there are many people so you cannot concentrate for studying. I like this place and I would like to use for studying when I need to study.

Public Library

I went to the public library with my new group on Monday. We sat in a study room and we did some homework there. The library is for everyone, it has books for all ages. In the past, I went to the children’s section with my younger brother and he had a lot of fun. I usually go there to study and read. I like to sit on the second floor next to the window, so I can see the sun and people walk in the street while I am studying. One thing I did not like in the library was that we can’t eat there. I always like to have a snack when I am reading, but I am not able to do it in the library. It’s really nice and quiet place to study, so be sure to visit.

On Monday, our group went to the public library. It's near the ped mall which means it's convenient for everybody to get there. As a library, it doesn't only have abundant books collection, but also plenty of movies and others as well. Meanwhile, it includes public computers, study rooms, desks and copy and print area. It provides everything that people need when they want to study here. We got in one study room. It is quite and comfortable, very suit for studying. Staffs here are kind and helpful, and people who stay here are enjoying their time. Here has the best environment and atmosphere for studying, you will focus on whatever you are doing naturally. All in all, public library is totally a great, even the best place for everyone who want to find a study place.

Today I come to the public library with my new team members: Ruiyu and Ashgan. In china, libraries won't have a lot of study rooms, but in here, there are a lot of study rooms inside for students to study inside. In all libraries, people will be so quiet, so study rooms can help them study with their friends like a group, so it is more meaningful than just a place to borrow books in china. When we came to public library, there is no more free room for us, but just one minute later, someone gone and we have a room! How lucky we are! We spent a very nice period of time in such a beautiful and quiet place. I always came there last semester and this semester, it will also be a good place to go for me and for all of my friends!

Main Library

Today i come to the Main library with my new group mates -- Mili and Vincent. Actually, university's  libraries won't build that good and have that much devicies which students can free to use.And there are a lot of independent study rooms inside for a group of students to study inside. In this libraries, people will not always be quiet,they sometimes will communicate with each other. Another different is that there are more books and those are divided clearly. And the light is a sharp tech which can induction is there anyone and decide to trun on or off. That is totally amazing! We spent a very nice period of time in such a nice and comfortable place. It will be a good place to go for me and my friends!

We go to main library at 6 pm Tuesday.This time is the most people go there, so we find a seat near the coffee shop. I think this design is great! Students can buy coffee and food when they feel tired and hungry while studying. In my opinion, they should build some walls between coffee shop and study rooms. Because the coffee shop make many noise that will influence students. It's better to have an additional room for the coffee shop like Starbucks do.

Today, March 29, my group and I decided to study at the Main Library. It is my favorite place to study on campus but it is always too crowded, however, today the library was almost empty. I always wanted to sit at the tables that are close to the coffee shop but I couldn’t because there were always people there, but today we could study and do our homework sitting in that part. It was really nice. The main library is a really big building with many different places to study, it has private rooms, small and big tables everywhere, and also many computers and printers. I would say that it is a really good place to study, where there are many different options to make the students comfortable and also everyone respects each other being silent, thats why most of the students like to study at the Main Library. We really enjoyed the experience.

BHC Honors Lounge

        My friend and I went to BHC Honors Lounge.

 Then we went to the private part of the study, it was a gallery is divided into two section with comfortable seats left for study section and the other is a table with chairs but uncomfortable. There is a section dedicated to books and also for magazines. Beautiful views of the building, where you can enjoy reading or even studying and also see the sunset. What attracted our attention that there are special places for printing and there is also the computers available for students to use. The place is very structured and there is no inconvenience and very quiet, where Anyone who recalls that in a quiet and comfortable refuge.
 I would advise those seeking tranquility and the right place to study to go there, of course, a wonderful place for students of the university.

      Today, I went to the BHC Honors Lounge. BHC is located in front of the chemistry building. Our groups decided go there on Monday, but because of I had a stomachache on that day, so I went there by myself today. It is a wonderful place to study. It has transparent floor-to-ceiling windows, which makes people have a good mood all day. Every corner has desk and sofa, which offer good surroundings for students to study. Honor students may reserve individual rooms through the third floor desk. I guess all the students are envy the honor students to have such good place to study. As for me, after this time I studying there, I really love the BHC, and I really want to study hard to be an honor student.

Yesterday, we went to the BHC Honors Lounge. The study area is in the third floor. Actually, I don't like to go to the Chinese universities' libraries, because I don't like the environment and atmosphere there, too many people but few seats. There are not only computers room but also other parts. For example, some parts with sofa and lots of books and some parts are outside. It's not an unattractive study area. Both People study alone or study with groups are awesome!I love there, I believe reading books there make me enjoyable! Hope next trip. 

IMU commons

This Monday me, Lulu and Risako went to the IMU commons, and we all think it is a really good place for study. When I got here, many students were studying. People could buy food and drinks in coffee or market. When I studied there with Lulu and Risako, I bought sushi and water because I wanted to eat something while studying. In addition, there are many rooms for study. If you did not want other students to bother you, you have many choices to change your place. So in my opinion, if you want to choose a place for study, IMU commons is a good choice.

We went to IMU commons with Fiona and Lulu. I think that place is good for student who can't concentrate in very quiet place like a library to study. There are a coffe shop and some market places and vending machines near that place.  The lighting in the place are good enough to study. In addition, there are also some plugs,  so we can use laptops there.  Therefore, IMU commons is one of the best places for Iowa students to study.

I went to IMU commons to study with Fiona and Risako. It is a very free and pleasant place it is also a quite place because people focused on their own things seriously when we were looking for a good place for us. To make us even better we had seen grocery store and fresh food. There are a lot of choose such as, sushi, burger and etc. We bought some of them. Compare to Iowa City Public Library, It is a prefect place to study because there are quite a lot of books. People can borrow a book and CD you like. Some books will be helpful for you to improve your English skills. In my opinion, both place are great, but if you will hungry during studying, IMU commons is a good place for you to study. 

                    

Seashore Hall East Side Study Room

In afternoon, I went to Seashore Hall East Side Study Room with my team members, Bohua and Andy. Before we went there, to be honest, it's hard to find Seashore Hall East Side Study Room because we searched the address from google map for a long time. After we arrived, we got shock cause it's too hot in there and too old. I thought they opened the air warmer condition. Even thought it is a hot place, it's quite and good for study. We spent an hour for reviewing grammar and writing. During study, I found that both of them are good at grammar and writing since they taught me a lot!! I appreciate that Betsy and Sarah allotted us to one group. Hope for next trip!!!!

After the class, I went to the Seashore Hall East Side Study Room with Andy and Hou. For me, I didn't like this study room because there are some facility, which are very older and damaged by some bad guy. Therefore, the air condition was useless because it made the room, which was very hot, and when you stayed at the room, you probably could not breath. I thought all of facility were bad and dirty. If you want to study, I suggested that you need to go to the main library. It was not a good place to study, so we just studied thirty minutes. I hope that we will chose a good room for studying.

On 29^th Mach, we went to Seashore Hall Study Room. It is a really quiet space for students to study. I really like the Seashore Hall Study Room. Compared with Main Library, Seashore Hall Study Room is better for students who only do some homework without source of reference. Although Seashore Hall Study Room is helpful for students study, it is little hot for students here. In Main library, it is an open space, which is much more comfortable for students. In Main library, you still have computers to do some online homework, but in Seashore Hall Study Room, you only have the quiet room without any other things. Finally, when some other classroom classes are over, many students will pass the Seashore Hall Study Room, it makes much noisy. However, it will not happen in Main library. To conclude, Main library is better for students to study than Seashore Hall Study Room.

                                                 

Mayflower gym

             We went to the Mayflower gym on 29th February. You might have trouble to get to the gym, because the  bym is in the inner part of the Mayflower. We passed in front elevators and kept straight then turned left at the end of the hall. There were some running machines, sit-ups machines and other exercising machines or tools. There wrer also big TVs on the wall, so people can do exercise watching the TV shows. A couple of people were running on the machines at that time. Although it is not huge gym, it is useful for student who live in the Mayflower.

            On 29^th February, we went to Mayflower gym. In Mayflower gym, it has some running machines and some any other machines which could exercise muscle. I consider this gym has both advantages and drawbacks. Compared with the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, Mayflower gym is too small. Mayflower gym may be more continent for students who live in Mayflower. However, Campus Recreation and Wellness Center has more stuff than Mayflower gym. There is a big swimming pool in CRWC. CRWC also has basketball count and soccer count. People have more choices in CRWC than in Mayflower. Therefore, CRWC has anything that Mayflower gym has.

Field House

        I went to Field House on Monday with Najwa and Zoe. I think Field House is the old gym for our university. It is an old building and complex. We use the stairs and we thought we were in a maze. I went there before to play squash and it's an excellent place to play this game. This time, I went with my group to jogging track. It was quiet when we went there, just a few people run on the jogging track, so we join them. When I looked around I saw some drawing on the wall, it was funny to see them. It is a good to run there in cases the weather is cold or snow outside. I like Field House because it's a quiet place and not a lot of people go there. I will go again in the future.

     I and my friends went to Field House. The place is very small and old, there was not a lot of sports activities, just a gym for basketball practice and the race track and ran. The place is boring, I would not advise people to go there . Unless you're interested in running it the right place for it.

     This week Ashgan, Najwa and I went to the Field House. I was so surprised that this gym is very close to my dorm. I can just spend five minutes from my dorm to Field House by walk. I even did not know this place before. We looked around and took pictures. I was very excited because I found a swimming pool, but I did not know if it is opened for all students. Actually, in China, I did not go to gymnasium very often. I know that the swimming pool, the ground track field, and the basketball court are usually separate in China. However, in the Field House, those places are in one building. In addition, the ground track field is on the fourth floor which is just like the stand of the basketball court. I think it is in order to save space. Both the Field House and the gym in China use rubber track which can absorb shock and give protect for people’ bones and joints. If the swimming pool opens for all student, I will go there in summer.

Skateboard Park

Yesterday I went to the skateboard park with my group members.It is located in front of the Mayflower Hall.Because of I am living in the Mayflower, I know much more things about this park. It has professional pathway which was painted by individual pictures. Due to its pretty picture, it becomes relax place where people are willing to go. Every time I pass by this park, I saw many Americans play skateboard here, but other countries of people are not very much. Americans are more good at the outside sports. Yesterday with my friends, we just went there and saw how they play it because we all don't have skateboards and we never play this sports. In order to remember that moment we were together, we took lots of picture of the great weather. The skateboard is the same feeling as the surfing, but it can play without water, and it has different skills to play it, like street, pool, half-pipe, freestyle flatland, and speed downhill. Nowadays, skateboard activity becomes more and more popular, and it has an international organization. The only thing we feel regret is we don't play it by ourselves, maybe we can do it together next time.

On Monday afternoon our group went to skateboard park. It opposites Mayflower Hall. It's not a big park but pretty funny. Lots of street graffiti are in the park. I think it's a kind of American culture. If the weather is good, many boys go to there playing skateboard. Their actions are pretty cool and difficult. There are also some girls who play skateboard. They are so awesome. Unfortunately none of us plays skateboard. But as this park is just lying beside the river, it still a good place to go. Watching others playing skateboard is interesting too. If you want to find a place for relaxing or having a walk, come and try skateboard park.

On Tuesday, we went to the skateboard park. There were few people in there, and they were practicing special skateboard  tricks.  I have never seen such skateboard park in my hometown because there are not much people playing skateboard. In my hometown, they need to apply for the equipments and place for playing skateboard, but in here, people can play it even there's only one stone! I think it's very cool to play skateboard! 

City Park

This Monday, March 7^th, Fiona, Bohua and I went to city park which is located near Mayflower Hall. On the way to the park, there is a river and there were people who were rowing canoes. It was really good to see it from the bridge. There were some playground equipment such as swings, a seesaw, and a slide. We played with them a little bit. It was fun time to be in the nature and spend time with them!

Me, Bohua and Aya went to the city park on Monday. Personally, I think the city park in Iowa City is much better than my hometown. There are many different kinds of rides in this park, and people can sit under a pavilion. In the summer, people can come to here to have a barbecue party. However, the park in my hometown is difference, most people will come at night to do some exercise which is not interesting! The weather is getting warm, I think I will call my friends come to city park together on the weekend!

I went to City Park with Aya and Fiona on March 7, and we played some public facility on City Park. There are lots of trees, which are very luxuriant around the Iowa River. We liked to play the public facility because this park is full of swing and hobbyhorse, and it’s a good way to help people who came this park to relax. This city park is really a good place to visit the Iowa City. When you came there, you can visit the park, Iowa River and famous building like Mayflower. I hope that you can go to City Park with your friends, and it will give you a good time there. 

"Climbing Wall"

  Today, the weather is very nice. Our group(Mili, Hou and me) plan to go to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center to climb the wall, but it is unfortunate that the wall is closed today. We all feel sad, because all of us like this sport.We believe it must be exciting,challenging and interesting. What a pity thing! Although the wall is closed, we chose other fitness equipment to exercise. We tried to run on the running machine.I did bodybuilding exercise on the health mat. There is a good basketball court, fantastic swimming pools and different kinds of fitness exercise in this building. I really love this place! It's can help us to keep a balance between study and exercise! I think I'll spend much time here in the future!

Today, March 8, we decided to climb the wall in Campus Recreation & Wellness Center, however,  when we got there the wall was closed and we couldn't do it. We were so sad, we really wanted to try to climb that wall because it is really different than others gyms, especially than the gyms in my country, they don't have climbing walls like that. Even though the wall was closed we took the opportunity to exercise in other parts of the gym. It was really fun, we ran a lot in the machines, rode the bicycles, and we got smoothies. The machines were also different than other gyms that I have been, the bicycles are like video games, you don't get bored if you are using them. The smoothies are really vary, healthy, and taste.

Today, we went to the gym and prepare for Climbing Wall. But unfortunately, it closed even though we wanted it. In fact, there were testing for some people so we can not went in there. However, we did not waste our time, we did the some exercises and took some pictures about the gym. We glad that we took happy time in afternoon. Hope for next trip!!!

In the GYM

Last Friday evening, I went to the gym with my team mates Lu and Jonny. We went to the amazing gym I have never seen before. I think someone told me that this is the 2ct biggest gym in US's university. I always like to work out and now I find this excellent place where I can run, using the work out machine, and playing basketball. That is good news for me. In Friday, we were using some machines to work out which is really helpful for people who are new in gym. I’m happy that there is this gym in our university. I strongly suggest that all of your guys should go and work out. If not, you are wasting the amazing source of keeping health. Finally, thanking you guys for reading our recording.




reviewer Jonny yesterday,yulin and lulu with me went to the biggest gym in Iowa city, it called: campus recreation and wellness center, we had a good night there. I found there where a lot of different machines there, all of us felt excited, so after we sign up, we started to do exercise. We all like this gym because it is so big and have enough equipment. So we decided to do more exercise, like lulu went to runner for at least 30 mins, i just hold that to praticed my hand, when lulu and me decided to go home, yulin wanted to stayed there for more time. We will go there later, and hope we can try more things there like basketball and swim. even the climb!!!




















Yuling, Jonny and I wen to gym on last Tuesday. When I went in that moment, it is an very large gym. At first, we just looked around. I saw a big swimming pool, basketball courts and a lot of different fitness equipments. Compare to the gym, which is Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department is near to my apartment. Campus Recreation & Wellness Center I went is the biggest than others. When I saw most students worked out in gym, it make me want to do the same thing with them. I really recommend go to Campus Recreation if you like work out everyday. It will be an great choice. 

Experience in Gym-----Basketball Court

First, I want to tell your guys that for some reasons I have already left Group 3. I finished this task by my own this week.

Just like the black widow says, "I'd rather work alone."

Yep. I went to the basketball court, where my former teammates would never go. As a former MVP I had to say that basketball court is always my zone. To those little kids, I was a huge monster, so I just robbed their ball from the board and started to shoot. Obviously they could never steal it back. Oh, despicable me!

See how good I am? No one can beat me!

   One of my dream is to carry the ball like Stephen Curry.

When a child tried to defend me,  I pointed my finger on the sky and said, "Look! Alien!" Then the stupid cute boy looked at my hand and I passes him with my perfect skill. Oh, clever me!

I was enjoying bullying these two kids, because they were played by me like two jumping monkeys who want to pee deadly but they just can't. So cute!

Finally, their big sister came to me angrily. Before she started to talk, I caught her boobs suddenly. A rainbow was blooming on her face, red, green, black, blue and purple. Then she screamed.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
She took the two children back home with shame, and I returned their ball with a big smile.

When I saw my inverted image on the glass, the person was absolutely not me.
I saw the dead pool behind me.
Perfect!
 I was so glad that I owned the full court. Just as I said, basketball court is always my zone.
Then the question was, I didn't have a ball.
Oh, hell! The feeling of boring came so quickly!
Bored! Bored! Bored!!!
 If I had a gun, I would shot a smiling face on the wall to express my annoying boring feeling.

However, I saw a guy with light skin and a big ass who was shooting with difficulty.
Obviously, this man works in office and hardly plays sport.
What? How could I know he's not a student?
Come on! Use your tiny brain! There was some chalk dust on his trousers, just beside his laps. Also, some of dust was on his left hand cuff, obvious!
Definitely, he was a left-handed teacher who worked in an old school. Thanks, Sherlock!
